Research Details
Laboratory studies have examined Semax in neurotrophin expression, gene regulation, peptide metabolism, and cellular responses to neural stress. Animal and cell studies have reported changes involving brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), its TrkB receptor, and genes related to immune and vascular signaling. Its exact targets and receptor interactions are not fully understood.
Research has also examined BDNF and TrkB signaling and gene-expression changes in rat neural-injury models. Most findings are preclinical and do not show cognitive or neurological benefits in humans.
